Room lockdown: Ohana happens entirely on the Tiki Resort property — pool parties, dinner show, vending, seminars, all of it — and the resort's rooms are the whole game. Book your room the moment registration opens; once the Tiki fills, you're in an overflow motel up Canada Street and hauling your mug bag past mini-golf pirates at 1am. It's a walkable village, but on-property is the difference between attending Ohana and living inside it.

The Canada Street Crawl

Walk ten minutes up Canada Street from the moai to the Montcalm Street dock and put your crew on a thatch-roofed boat for 75 minutes on the Queen of American Lakes. BYO daiquiris in the cooler they provide. Back in time for the evening pool party. (Short by design — it's a small town.)

The Wood Line

From the last operating piece of Charles R. Wood's empire to the footprint of its lost sibling. Walk West Brook Road to the park that replaced Gaslight Village, read the man's name on the sign, and come back past the fire-eaters' stage. The shortest, densest tiki-history walk in the Northeast.

Homeward Soundings

Sunday checkout run for the Boston/Springfield contingent: a farewell charter on Saratoga Lake, then down I-87 and east on I-90 to Chicopee to stand where the Hu Ke Lau's 53-year floor show went dark. Decompression by dead reckoning.

Know Before You Go

First-timer intel
Stay on property or regret it
Ohana is a single-property event — pool parties, vending, seminars, and the Waikiki Supper Club show all happen at the Tiki Resort. The room block is the event. Register and book lodging the same day; overflow motels line Canada Street but you'll feel the distance at midnight.
Adirondack June has two temperatures
Sunny 80s at the afternoon pool party, low 50s by the time the last band finishes. Pack a layer that goes with an aloha shirt. The lake itself is still spring-cold in late June — the heated pool is the scene; the lake dip is a badge.
NY liquor law will surprise you
Grocery and convenience stores (Stewart's) sell beer only. Rum, wine, and everything else comes from dedicated liquor stores with their own hours — buy your room-bar bottles Thursday or Friday, not Sunday morning.
Timing your arrival
Late June is the front edge of Lake George high season: Route 9 through the village crawls on summer weekends, and I-87 backs up Friday afternoons. Arrive Thursday if you can.
You can land without a car — barely
Albany (ALB) is about 55 minutes south; Amtrak's Adirondack line stops at Fort Edward–Glens Falls about 20 minutes away. But once you're at the Tiki, everything is walkable — the resort, the dock, the pubs, the ghost of Gaslight Village — so a Thursday-to-Sunday car-free run is genuinely doable.

Survival Guide

Provisions & resupply
Liquor
Gateway Wine & Liquor — Closest dedicated wine-and-spirits store to the resort, off Route 9 a few minutes south. NY law: rum lives here, not in grocery or convenience stores. Stock the room bar Thursday.
~9am–9pm Mon–Sat · shorter Sun — call aheadMap ↗
Ice
Stewart's Shops (Rte 9) — Upstate's beloved convenience chain: bagged ice, beer (beer only — NY law), mixers, and ice cream for the morning after. Minutes from the resort at the south entrance to the village.
Daily 5am–11pmMap ↗
Late-Night Food
Duffy's Tavern — Pizza and pub food a short walk up Canada Street; upstairs bar has live bands all summer. The reliable post-pool-party feed.

Late-Night Food
Jamo's Pub — Irish pub with lake views, two bars, DJs Fri–Sat. The latest option in a village that otherwise sleeps — Lake George is not a 4am town; plan accordingly.
