Winter Break is the Inuhele crew's deliberately relaxed "quality hang" — a two-day hotel takeover of the Courtland Grand with lighter programming, a lower price, and none of the big built installations or VIP track of the flagship. It's for hanging out, learning, shopping the dealers, and singing along; not the full production. The bars and ghosts here are Atlanta's own, shared with the main Inuhele: Atlanta's Tiki Weekend hub — same city map, quieter weekend. If you want the full build-out, watch for the flagship's 2027 dates.

Start with a Mai Tai in the 1976 time capsule under the Hilton — pour one out for The Hukilau, founded in this room in 2002 — then ride east to S.O.S. in Decatur, the craft-tiki standard-bearer of the New South, and swing by Strangers in Paradise on the Westside for the neon-alligator '80s-Miami energy.

The Dead Reckoning Run

Atlanta's Polynesian ghosts. The Luau on Peachtree — the Dinkler original that seeded the Dobbs House chain across the South, its A-frame still legible under later tenants — anchors it, with Tiki Tango and the recently-shuttered Mambo Zombi (watching for its East Atlanta Village revival) filling out the run.

Winter Break is by design lighter than the flagship Inuhele — lower price, no big installations, no VIP track, event mugs mostly pre-order. Come for the relaxed hang and the panels, not the full production.

January in Atlanta is cold

Downtown Atlanta in late January sits in the 30s–40s. Your aloha shirt needs a coat over it, and the whole thing is indoors at the Courtland Grand anyway.

You're downtown, on MARTA

The Courtland Grand is in the heart of downtown, on top of MARTA, with the 1976 basement Trader Vic's on the adjacent block — the easiest tiki pilgrimage on the schedule.

Not the full weekender

The flagship Inuhele: Atlanta's Tiki Weekend — panels, bands, the homebar tour, the full build-out — is a separate event whose 2027 dates are still to be announced. Winter Break shares its Atlanta chart but not its scale.
