The winter one. The Getaway Weekender is Spike Marble's retro-glam January take on the Caliente Tropics — surf, lounge, and exotica under the same A-frames that host Tiki Caliente in spring and Circa in fall. It shares this town's whole tiki map: the same living rooms on Palm Canyon, the same golden-age ghosts. Third event, one hotel — and in January the desert is at its most forgiving, so the poolside program actually wants a light jacket after dark. Book the room block early; the Tropics fills before the weekend does.

The Palm Canyon Crawl

Every living tiki room in town sits on the same road. Sunset mai tai at The Reef, north to Tonga Hut's second-floor perch, dark and serious at Bootlegger inside the old Beachcomber walls, and close it out under the toucans. Rideshare the 4-mile spine — January nights are cool, so bring the aloha shirt's coat.

The Dead Reckoning Run

Three ghosts of the desert's Polynesian golden age: Aloha Jhoe's vanished tiki god, the twice-demolished Chi Chi block, and the Beachcomber's restored torches — the one lost site where the lights are still on.

Know Before You Go

First-timer intel
Third event, same hotel
The Caliente Tropics now anchors three weekenders a year — Tiki Caliente (spring), Circa Caliente (fall), and the Getaway (January). Same five acres, same town chart. Whichever you catch, the map is identical.
January is the kind season
Desert winter days are mild and nights are genuinely cool — the rare Palm Springs weekend where the poolside program wants a light layer after sundown. Pack the coat over the aloha shirt.
Book the bed before the wristband
The Tropics sells out for the weekend ahead of ticket sales. The walkable overflow on E Palm Canyon — Motel 6, The V, the Hotel California — is your backup.
Confirm the exact span
We have Jan 21–24, 2027 from the organizer, but the printed weekend can shift by a day. Check breezewaycocktailhour.com before you book travel.

Ice
Vons (Smoke Tree Village) — Bagged ice by the sack, plus groceries, mixers, and a full liquor aisle — five minutes east on the same road as the hotel. The hotel ice machines will not survive 600 tiki people; plan accordingly.
